The BFM80 low-cost flow sensor, offered by BASI. The patented technology is the basis for the highgrade liquid flow meters. The rotor housing with its special geometry, the light-weight Vectra® rotor (0.04 g) and a radial liquid flow make the rotor float. This floating movement is the source of a mechanical resistance hardly capable of measuring, which ensures a long service life, a high accuracy and linearity. The 3-vane rotor interrupts an infrared signal that is converted into a pulse by the integrated electronics. The unique rotor design provides a high-pressure (up to 250 bar) operation. The material types used (PVDF, Vectra®, Viton®) have an exceptional chemical and thermal (up to 90 °C) resistance. Other ranges except the standard flow range from 0.5 to 20 l/min are available on request. The sophisticated design makes the BFM80 sensor suitable for universal application and offers excellent price-to-performance ratio.
